Every year in Issime, as in many other villages of Valle d’Aosta, August 5 is the celebration the Madonna of the Snow.
Starting in the early morning, residents and visitors begin to climb the slopes of the Saint Grato deep valley until they reach the Mühnes chapel, at an altitude of 2007 meters. At approximately 11.00a.m. Holy Mass is celebrated and, afterwards, traditional polenta and milk are served to all. Local music from the Banda Musicale brightens the festivity.
