On the centenary of Margherita of Savoy's death (1926-2026), Gressoney-Saint-Jean is offering a series of themed guided walks to retrace the places that symbolize the bond between the Queen and the Lys Valley.
This is an opportunity to stroll slowly through history, landscape, and memory, accompanied by guides who recount Margherita's presence in Gressoney, her love for the mountains, and the cultural significance of the places she frequented.
Itinerary:
The walks start from the center of Gressoney-Saint-Jean (Obre Platz, Piazza Superiore) and lead to Castel Savoia, the residence built by the Queen at the beginning of the 20th century.
The route follows easily accessible, scenic paths and roads, suitable for a wide audience.
