TORX® and Tot Dret: the Great Challenge Starts in Gressoney

From Lake Gover to Courmayeur, 130 km through the heart of the Alps: Gressoney-Saint-Jean lights up the night of Valle d’Aosta’s great trail-running adventure.

15 September 2026 | Lake Gover, Gressoney-Saint-Jean

In September, the Aosta Valley once again becomes the setting for one of the world’s most fascinating endurance trail-running events: TORX® with Kailas, the legendary week of the Tor des Géants®.

The event crosses the entire region beneath some of the highest peaks in the Alps, and this year Gressoney-Saint-Jean will take centre stage as the starting point of the TOR130 – Tot Dret, setting off on Tuesday, 15 September from the picturesque surroundings of Lake Gover.

A spectacular start in the heart of Gressoney

As evening falls, the atmosphere around Lake Gover will begin to change. Athletes, support crews, trail-running enthusiasts and spectators will gather at the foot of Monte Rosa for one of the most exciting moments of TORX® week.

The Tot Dret starts at 9:00 pm. Ahead of the runners lie 130 kilometres of mountain trails and 12,000 metres of elevation gain, from Gressoney-Saint-Jean all the way to Courmayeur.

It is an extraordinary journey through some of the Aosta Valley’s most spectacular mountain scenery, with Monte Rosa, the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc providing the backdrop to a challenge that demands endurance, determination and a deep connection with the mountains.

Tot Dret and the spirit of the Tor des Géants®

The TOR130 – Tot Dret belongs to the same family as the TOR330 – Tor des Géants®, the legendary endurance trail that covers approximately 330 kilometres across the Aosta Valley.

Tot Dret condenses that spirit into a shorter but still extremely demanding route. Competitors have a maximum of 44 hours to reach the finish line in Courmayeur.

For Gressoney, this is more than the start of an international sporting competition. It is a special occasion that brings together the world of trail running, the local community and everyone who shares a passion for the mountains.

See you at Lake Gover

The programme begins in the afternoon on Tuesday, 15 September. Race bibs will be distributed from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm, while the TORX® with Kailas on the Road Expo will take place at Lake Gover from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with stands and entertainment.

At 8:30 pm, the athletes will gather on the starting line for the official briefing. Then, at 9:00 pm, the moment everyone has been waiting for: the start of the TOR130 – Tot Dret, heading towards Courmayeur.

For visitors staying in Gressoney, it is a unique opportunity to experience the atmosphere of an international trail-running event up close and to see some of the world’s most determined endurance athletes begin their journey through the mountains of the Aosta Valley.
