LA 3K: A Special Weekend at the Foot of Monte Rosa
Gressoney-La-Trinité welcomes two days dedicated to trial enthusiasts, with an organised and regulated event connecting the village with the spectacular high-altitude landscapes of Monte Rosa.
19–20 September 2026 | Gressoney-La-Trinité
In September, the mountains around Monte Rosa provide the setting for a rather unique adventure. LA 3K returns to Gressoney-La-Trinité for a weekend dedicated to trial motorcycle enthusiasts, with a route that starts in the heart of the village and reaches an altitude of 3,000 metres.
Rather than a race against the clock, LA 3K is a non-competitive off-road event, offering participants the opportunity to experience the mountains along a challenging and spectacular route through the high-altitude landscapes of the Gressoney Valley.
From Gressoney-La-Trinité to 3,000 metres
The event starts and finishes in Gressoney-La-Trinité, at 1,635 metres above sea level. From here, participants follow a route with more than 2,700 metres of elevation gain, gradually climbing towards some of the most iconic locations in the Monte Rosa area.
The itinerary reaches Colle Bettaforca at 2,700 metres, passes near Lake Gabiet at 2,371 metres, and culminates at Passo dei Salati, at an altitude of 3,000 metres.
It is this combination that makes LA 3K such a distinctive event: starting in the village and, over the course of the experience, reaching a truly high-Alpine environment surrounded by the dramatic scenery of the Monte Rosa massif.
A weekend dedicated to trial riding
The 2026 edition will take place on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September, bringing riders and enthusiasts to Gressoney-La-Trinité for a weekend dedicated to the world of trial riding.
Saturday afternoon will also feature “La Carburata”, a shorter trial ride designed as an introduction to Sunday's main event: an opportunity for participants to prepare their bikes, warm up and get into the spirit of the weekend.
Sunday will then be dedicated to the main LA 3K experience and its high-altitude route.
A different way to experience Gressoney and Monte Rosa
LA 3K is also an opportunity to discover Gressoney at a particularly evocative time of year. September marks the transition from summer to autumn: the mountains take on new colours, the atmosphere becomes quieter and the high-altitude landscape reveals a different character from the height of the summer season.
For participants, companions and visitors, the LA 3K weekend can therefore become an opportunity to spend a few days in Gressoney-La-Trinité, discovering the village, its surroundings and the Alpine environment at the foot of Monte Rosa.
The event also places particular emphasis on respecting the mountain environment. Participants are required to remain exclusively on the official route during the event, while outside the event itself motorcycles may only be used in the designated test areas.
